House Of The Sea is situated at the end of its ‘own’, quiet country road that winds through centuries-old olive groves. The junction that leads onto this country road is approximately 25 km south of the island’s capital, Lefkas. The drive from Lefkas to the south coast is a delight and offers magnificent views of the sea, the mainland, small islands (one of which the island of the Onassis family) and across lovely wooded hills, mountains and bays.
The total surface area of the House Of The Sea property is some 17,000 m². The location and natural landscape with a hundred ancient olive trees create a private and enchanting atmosphere. The property has breathtaking vistas of the bay of Poros Beach and the wide open sea with several islands. The night sky is brilliant with stars, and the distant lights of Poros Village sparkle on the mountainside. It is magical and seductively peaceful. With a silence that’s only broken by the chirping songs of the crickets.
House Of The Sea consists of the main house, ‘Olives’, and two guest houses, ‘Oranges’ and ‘Roses’. House Of The Sea lets you enjoy an environment of beauty and authenticity on an island known for its friendly people. The three houses reflect that beauty inside and out. Moreover, the properties are situated to offer maximum privacy. Inside, the houses are havens of warmth, luxury and class, providing all the comfort and high standards our guests are accustomed to.
The architecture and construction of the House Of The Sea accommodations distinguish themselves almost entirely from the quality commonly found in Greece . The houses provide an exceptionally high standard of luxury and comfort. The interior is flooded in light. We opted for the best craftsmanship and building materials. The architecture is open and traditional in feeling. The atmosphere is elegant.
House Of The Sea is far more than a beautiful collection of magnificently situated houses. The interiors also represent a collection of fine antiques and original works of art. The antiques are harmoniously combined with timeless furniture and lack the sense of heaviness often associated with antiques. The ambience is light, sunny and warm.
The interiors have a quality rarely found in the top end of the international rental market. These accommodations have nothing in common with a suite in a luxury hotel, nor with often poorly and unimaginatively furnished, high rental properties. House Of The Sea offers a quality of life that appeals to all the senses with its beauty, style, luxury, homey atmosphere and an almost tangible quiet elegance, an aspect characteristic of true quality.
Please be advised that we rent to non-smokers only.
The main house is the family home, situated on a 5,200 m² plot of land, and surrounded by age-old olive trees. There are several terraces around the house and cosy sitting areas under the magnificent olive trees. The name of the house is ‘Olives’. Only the surrounding natural beauty, the bay, the sea and the inland hills with broad-leaved and cypress trees and the mountain village of Poros come into view.
‘Olives’ has an extremely generous layout. The living area, with a very convenient kitchen, is nearly 150 m², including a covered veranda of 40 m² which, in southern countries, is a delightful place to relax, while offering extra living space. The height of the ceilings, doors and windows and the beautiful fireplace create a charming atmosphere. On the first floor, there are a large master bedroom (33 m²) with a lovely terrace and a smaller bedroom with a big balcony and a spacious bathroom. ‘Olives’ also has a sizeable cellar, as well as a delightful spa with a Finnish and Turkish sauna, showers, toilet, and indoor and outdoor relaxing areas. The sauna’s indoor relaxing area can also serve as a comfortable third bedroom for two persons.
This rental property is ideal for a family that appreciates plenty of space, luxury and beautiful art. It is a perfect house for two to six persons. The house ‘Olives’ can be rented for a minimum of two weeks. During the high season (June / September) the rental rate is EUR 4,200 per week. If rental exceeds two weeks, a 20% discount is granted for the subsequent weeks. Outside the high season, the weekly rate is EUR 2,800. The discount for subsequent weeks is also 20%.

The guest houses are situated on beautiful plots of land surrounded by acres of unspoilt nature, which conveys a feeling of privacy and seclusion. The views of the bay and the mountain landscape with the old village of Poros are magnificent. The guest houses are all seasons houses with a cosy fireplace for the somewhat cooler off-season months. Their names are ‘Oranges ’ and ‘Roses’. Both houses provide optimum comfort to four persons each. ‘Oranges’ can accommodate an additional two persons in the third bedroom in the souterrain. Each bedroom has a private shower and toilet. The master bedrooms and adjoining bathrooms are beautifully designed and luxurious.
‘Oranges’ has a spacious living area and very convenient, separate kitchen totalling 115 m², including a covered veranda of 45 m². In addition, there is a large master bedroom (24 m²), a second bedroom and two bathrooms. Everything is located on one floor. The third bedroom and bathroom are situated in the souterrain. The view from the large Ionian veranda is stunning.
On the outside, ‘Roses’ is a replica of a typical village house the way they have been built on Lefkas for centuries. It’s a two-storey house with a beautiful, traditional Greek balcony. On the ground floor, ‘Roses’ has a living and dining area, and a very convenient kitchen. The bedrooms are on the first floor. The doors of the master bedroom open to the balcony, affording spectacular views. The second bedroom is of a good standard but smaller. Both bathrooms are luxurious, each with double wash basins, a spacious shower and, of course, a toilet. The third bedroom and bathroom are situated in the souterrain.
Both guest houses have lovely terraces and are surrounded by beautiful, unspoilt nature and mature olive trees. The interiors create an enchanting atmosphere, and looking from the living room, the covered veranda or one of the terraces across the intensely blue sea and the lovely bay, it all becomes part of this unique setting. Other essential, atmosphere-enhancing elements are the interior design, consisting of a balanced collection of contemporary furniture, fine antiques and original works of art, as well as decorative fireplaces. More appealing ‘centres de ambiance’ are hardly imaginable.
The rental rate for the house ‘Oranges’ is EUR 3,300 per week in the months of June, July, August and September. The off-season rental rate is EUR 2,200 per week. Rental rates for the guest house ‘Roses’ are EUR 2,700 and EUR 1,800, respectively.

We are still working out a booking schedule and the relevant arrival and departure days for the rental weeks. For example, flights in spring, summer and autumn from and to the UK , an important market, are on Sundays, whereas flights from and to the Netherlands are on Saturdays. These flights go through Preveza. From late October until late April flights usually arrive in and depart from Athens . About two thirds of the five-hour drive from Athens to the island of Lefkas leads through beautiful scenery and makes the trip a pleasant experience. It is also possible to fly from Athens to Preveza. Flying through Corfu is another option.
Arriving guests, who have booked accommodations for one or more weeks, can occupy House Of The Sea after 16:00 hours. On departure day, we require guests to vacate the accommodations before 10:00 hours. Of course, guests are always welcome to come earlier on arrival day or stay longer on departure day.
Guests will find immaculate accommodations, fine linens, toiletries and everything needed for maximum comfort. The refrigerator and pantry will be stocked with basic foods and beverages to be enjoyed on arrival day. Maid service and change of linens are provided twice a week. Additional maid service and a delicious breakfast served poolside are available on request.
We recommend hiring a car at the airport, which we can arrange for you. Our local knowledge in the areas of eating, drinking, shopping, sailing, motor boating and excursion possibilities will be gladly shared with you. We are happy to extend our hospitality to you and will ensure that your stay at House Of The Sea is a delightful and memorable experience. This also includes respect for your privacy.
